ATOS TRIO

“Three Voices, One Sound: It's this absolutely perfect unit of phrasing, sound, feel, and interpretation that distinguishes the ATOS Trio from all others." (Detroit FreePress, USA)

Formed in Berlin in 2003 by Annette von Hehn (violin), Stefan Heinemeyer (violoncello) and Thomas Hoppe (piano), the ATOS Trio has established itself as one of the finest piano trios performing before the public today.

After intensive studies with Ilan Gronich, Menahem Pressler and the Alban Berg Quartet, the Trio won the Deutsche Musikwettbewerb, the Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson International Trio Award and the Melbourne Chambermusic Competition. A New Generation Artists

award from the BBC and a Borletto Buitoni Award soon followed.

Since then, the ATOS Trio has performed in many of the world´s prestigious halls - at Carnegie Hall New York, Berlin Philharmonic, Teatro Colon Buenos Aires, Wigmore Hall London, and Concertgebouw Amsterdam, to name but a few - with a repertoire that includes all of the piano trio masterworks as well as many a lesser known treasure.

"...they were Austrian in Haydn, Czechs in Dvórak and Russians in Shostakovich." (O Estado de Sao Paulo, Brazil)

With distuingished interpretations and unbridled enthusiasm, with absolute dedication and always enthrallingly genuine, the ATOS Trio continues to delight at concerts all over the world.

Their CD recordings are received enthusiastically by critics and audiences alike. Whether in their ongoing series (The French, The Russian Album, The Czech Album, The Vienna Album), or when treasure-hunting (Suk complete works, Herzogenberg Trios), the ATOS

astonishes with deep expression and an incredibly warm, homogeneous piano trio sound.

"The ATOS Trio is among the best in its field." (Spiegel online)

Annette plays a violin by Julia Pasch (Vienna, 2016), Stefan a cello by Thomas Kennedy (England, 1810). Thomas is not particular to any manufacturer and plays on anything that has been kept in good shape and tuned.

All three musicians live with their families in Berlin. They teach at various universities in Germany and at the Accadamia Perosi in Biella, Italy.

"... one of the elite piano trios playing before the public today." (The Washington Post, USA)
